Now into its sixth year, the Affordable Art Fair Singapore opens today at the F1 Pit Building. On display will be works by 650 artists from across the world, presented by some 86 galleries. According to the organisers, visitors can expect a strong showing in Asian art with about 45 percent of the galleries from Singapore and over 70 percent from Asia. In theory, all artwork on sale is priced between $100 to $10,000 with the vast majority (75 percent) priced under $7,500. That said, there were a few paintings with a POA label attached, just in case tastes run a little pricier. Fair organisers are expecting to attract over 15,000 visitors over the four-day event but if attendances at last night’s VIP preview are anything to go buy, our hunch is that they should have little trouble meeting that target. The Affordable Art Fair will run from today until Sunday, November 15. Admission is $18, $10 for students and seniors, and free for under-16s.
