Students of Rainbow Centre, Dainal Isaac and Noah Tan raised a total of nearly $50,000 when their art pieces, 2 hand-painted chairs – were placed on a silent auction at Ion Orchard yesterday.
Noah Tan, is a talented 15-year-old student at Rainbow Centre Margaret Drive School and has won the Youth Category of the Very Special Arts 14th Annual Art Competition in August 2016. Noah has autism but this has not stopped the young student from pursuing his interest in art by playing with the use of vibrant colours.
There is a total of 55 Louis-style chairs, painted by students from the centre, in collaboration with artists displayed at level 3 of Ion Orchard. Each chair can be purchased at $8,000 and above.
Chief executive of Temasek Holdings, Ho Ching also helped the two teens put finishing touches on their chairs yesterday.
For the art curious, Noah Tan will be presenting a live demonstration come Saturday, 10 December 2016.
