Some time back, we wrote about the fancy dining options awaiting visitors at the National Gallery when it opens its doors this November. Thankfully, it’s not going to be all fancy-dress, big-ticket dining at the National Gallery. There will, in fact, be a casual place to enjoy coffee, cakes and local delicacies, once the long-awaited museum opens its doors.
Gallery & Co. is the new all-day café and cafeteria featuring Southeast Asian fare, reinterpreted in the pared down style of consulting chef Sufian Zain, of Restaurant Ember. Naturally, there’ll also be cakes, coffee and sweets from choice local purveyors. The café occupies the entire frontage on the ground floor of the City Hall Wing – so great views of the Padang while savouring that Macchiato.
