We do not look at the world from a distance; we are in it, and that’s how we feel.
– David Hockney
Singapore Tyler Print Institute (STPI) collaborates with Singapore Art Museum (SAM) to realise a solo exhibition of works on paper by acclaimed British artist David Hockney. He is known, among other things, for using the iPad as a sketching tool and then successfully selling these sketches. Most disappointingly, this show will not be showing these exciting means of art making but feature his more traditional lithographs and other paper-bound works. That does not make them any less intriguing or important, however.
Opening tonight, 6.30-8.30pm, in the presence of H.E. Scott Wightman, British High Commissioner to Singapore.
