Currently on show from now to 30 December 2016, at One East Larasati is an exhibition entitled Interplay by Filipino Artist, Pablo Cappati III.
The showcase presents a unique insight into the unique practice of anagama firing, an ancient type of pottery kiln brought to Japan from China via Korea in the 5th century. The artist draws inspiration from his background whilst taking pottery classes in Kobe, Japan when he was a teenager and also from his daily influences from nature.
Drawing from this inspiration, he predominantly works with biomorphic shapes. His studio faces an ocean front in a farmhouse.
Interplay is curated by Mark Valenzuela, an Australian based Filipino artist.
