Come Saturday 7 Jan 2017, a screening entitled 03-Flats will be on show at the NTU Centre for Contemporary Art.
A collaboration between director and filmmaker Lei Yuan Bin and Researcher, Dr Lilian Chee (Department of Architecture, NUS), the screening aims to highlight Singapore’s housing programme – which is arguably one of the most successful, in the world.
The film also questions how domesticity, a critical component of the concept of a home is “viscerally represented and experentially encountered”.
Having screened in 12 cities worldwide, it was chosen to compete in the Busan International Film Festival 2014 and won the best ASEAN documentary at the Salaya International Film Documentary Film Festival 2015. It was also recently featured at the International architectural biennale in Venice 2016, under the Singapore Pavillion.
The screening is part of Screenings: Re-thinking the city – film documentaries by Dr Marc Glode, Visiting Scholar NTU ADM/CCA Singapore.
