Last chance to catch an exhibition of veteran Singapore artist Lim Tze Peng’s work at Artcommune Gallery. The curated show featuring some 30 artworks that chart the artist’s career, ends Sunday 16 August.
Works on display include early ink paintings of Old Singapore (1970s – 80s) and still life compositions; 1990s ink landscapes that capture the decorative customs and idyllic charms of Bali; early-2000s trees-inspired series; and his calligraphic works of the recent decade. Admission to the exhibition is free.
Artcommune will also be staging a talk entitled An Introduction to Appreciating Lim Tze Peng’s Calligraphic Work. This talk will be conducted in English and is scheduled for Sunday 16 August 2015, from 7.30 to 9.30 pm. This talk is ideal for collectors and art enthusiasts who want to learn more about Lim Tze Peng’s calligraphy, and the role he has played in advancing contemporary Chinese ink practice.
