From now to 30 June 2016, TAKSU presents Manifesto – the fourth solo exhibition the gallery has had with Australian Artist Tony Twiggs. Twiggs is well known for his work on timber sculptures. For this series – Manifesto, he looks back towards his past for inspiration towards his ideas of the future’s manifestation. The timber constructions are a symbol of what exists and appear to exist, in his understanding of the past and vision of the future forward.
“We find the past reflected in the present. One is the consequence of the other. But we have to remind ourselves that the past is measured by the present. In my work, this has become an accommodation of what is seen and what is not seen. It permits the observation of intangible elements that might have been there once – that perhaps will be there in the future but currently can only be observed as the consequence of tangible objects.” says Twiggs
TAKSU is located at 43 Jalan Merah Saga. Find out more about the exhibition here.
