This exhibition is a way for French luxury goods manufacturer Hermès to share its passion for leather and craftsmanship, beyond the realm of their iconic handbags. For the company, leather is much more than a material, it is a “language that speaks to and inspires the five senses.” And the show is really as much about leather as it is about Hermès.
The exhibition has been divided into 12 sections dedicated to all things leather, and features all manner of bags, harnesses, belts, and spanning themes such as travel, craftsmanship and even some spectacular creations of leather fantasy.
Apart from the main exhibition, there is also a smaller “mini” exhibition called the Little Room of Wonders, taking place concurrently on the lawn of the Asian Civilisations Museum. Inside this little room are artifacts from the private collection of Émile Hermès. These “treasures” were and still continue to be, a source of inspiration for the company’s designers.
