The art collective called Vertical Submarine, comprising the trio of Joshua Yang, Justin Loke and Fiona Koh, will be staging an exhibition entitled Penetrations at Chan Hampe Galleries at Raffles Hotel Arcade #01-21. Taking a playful stance on trending topics like language policies and identity in Singapore, Penetrations references facets of fast disappearing colloquial conversation in Singapore, such as lyrical Hokkien rhymes, which are then presented in the archetypal style of olden-day advertisements and illustrations. Penetrations will run from September 23 until 18 October. The exhibition is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11am to 7pm and admission is free. For enquiries please call +65 6338 1962.
