The Private Museum is presenting Han Sai Por: Secret Landscapes – A Bali Purnati Artist Residency, an exhibition by one of Singapore’s leading sculptors and cultural medallion recipient, Han Sai Por. In this short clip, the artist talks about the influences in her practice, her style, and her experiences in Bali.
This show will be Han’s inaugural solo acrylic-medium focused exhibition and features a selection of fifteen acrylic-on-canvas paintings inspired by her recent Bali Purnati artist residency. The highlights of the exhibition include artistic interpretations of various geographical visits: the volcanic regions of Mount Batur and Mount Agung, the pristine beaches of Amed, Ketewel and Bias Tugel, the crashing waves of Water Blow Nusa Dua, and the expansive rice terraces of Jatiluwih. The collection also showcases a pair of elegant black granite and white marble sculptures.
The opening reception will be held on 4 August 2016, Thursday, 6.30pm at The Private Museum. There will also be an artist talk on Saturday, 6 August 2016, 11am at the same venue.
Han Sai Por (b. 1943) is a Singapore Cultural Medallion Award recipient and her works can be found in numerous international institutions, public space and private collections across China, India, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, United Kingdom and the United States.
