Imagine the stories from Song Dynasty paintings come to life, Tian Xutong does exactly that. Sagacious monks meditating on water, frolics of black and white – Tian’s imaginations are taken through boundless space, and are pure, natural, elementary and calm.
The artist draws inspirations from Zen philosophy and his artworks incorporate as well as infuses both the clarity and power of focus. Tian Xu Tong’s one-of-a-kind blend of abstract sage, serenity and drollness are found in the dexterity of his brushstrokes on rice paper.
Tian is an accoladed fine artist from Beijing. His artworks are currently on show in a solo exhibition presented by Yang Gallery Singapore.
